Peugeot Bicycle - $200 (Raleigh )

Peugeot Competition Classic Road bike. All original parts in great condition. 21" frame, 12spd, 700cc wheels. Cash only please. Contact me if you're interested in a test ride.
It's a OK buy but not all that great pretty rough shape and not all original. Plus it is a really large size not 21" and basically not usable with the current bar setup. One could end up spending a lot of time and money on a bike like this to get it back into proper shape.

It appears to be a 1979/1980 PXN10LE, a great double-butted Reynolds 531 frame. If it fits, you'd be golden. If it were me I'd offer less than the asking price, just to try to save $50 or so...but that's just me.

Thanks, I read his stated size without really looking at the picture. It is way too big for me.

Nice Peugeot!, but that stem really sucks! I usually would feel bad about these bikes that owners would forcefully try and retain their drop bars by installing those ugly stems, instead of just getting proper mustache/upright bars, but in this case, I guess it will be good for the buyer to have the original drop bars and brake levers so the bike can be brought back to its original configuration.
BTW, I think those are Stronglight 104bis crnaks on the bike. A very nice period feature by Peugeot on many of their mid to upper level bikes that's a nice bonus on the bike. 200 bucks looks to be a good bargain if there is no rust, dents or bad scratches on the frame and the paint/decals are complete and in good condition

That is a money stem for an MTB drop bar conversion though.

Yes. Straight gauge. I can't tell what the front derailleur is.
The crankset is a Stronglight and worth most if not all the cost of the whole bike.

Here's another interesting bike from Chicago CL, a true track bike (undrilled brake bridge and fork crown). He's asking $200 for f/f/hs/bb. $500 built with 1st gen Dura-Ace crank, Suzue track hubs, etc.

For those interested in vintage mountain or mountain to CX conversion projects - Two nice Bridgestone MBs =>

[h=1]VINTAGE BRIDGESTONE MB-1 RITCHEY LOGIC TUBING -NEW NEVER BUILT FRAME[/h]

A little pricy, but worth the money for an unbuilt frame, IMO. Note the biplanar fork.

Also - for those more interested in true rehab projects -

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bridgestone-...item2c7910449c

[h=1]Bridgestone MB-4 frame tange chromo[/h]

Note that this particular frame is lugged. It was built by Bridgestone in Japan - a rarity for the Trailblazer line.

RVA Cinelli. 900$:
https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/4222881493.html

This vintage Cinelli bicycle was owned by my late uncle. He grew up in Belgium and raced in the European circuit in the mid-late 70s. This was his personal bicycle that my aunt handed down to me a few years ago. I converted into a fixie (used as my good weather commuter bike in DC), but I still have the original Campagnolo gruppo (including quick-release axles), Mafac brakeset, Fiamme rims, Nitor seatpost & Brooks leather saddle (all come with the bike). I'm 6'1"tall, and the frame is a little small for me. Probably ideal for someone 5'8" - 5'11".

When I received this bike, it was in pretty rough shape because it had been stored in an outdoor shed for many years. The steel frame was deeply pitted with rust and the graphics were hardly recognizable. I took every piece of this bike apart and cleaned it myself. I stripped the steel frame and added several clear coats as kind of an homage to its materiality. For commuting purposes, I added some Tektro brakes, Alex Rims, pedals w/ leather straps, saddle, & Brooks handlebar tape. This bike has been well taken care of and runs very smooth.

The Campy gruppo alone is selling for $250-$600 on ebay.

Converted to fixie, but with all original parts included.

^^ completely disagree...it's not easy finding a 70s Cinelli SC, and that one looks like it has the eyelets. These are really fun, versatile bikes. Even in rough shape it's worth it barring major structural issues.

Yes. If it were 62ish, I'd probably go look at it. Might talk him down some, as I would also be contacting Bing about a repaint, but the price seems ballpark. Way too small, though, and the 62 up on the page is frankly way too expensive.
