I was just going to post about that Bianchi Rando bike. I've got relatives in town there. I was going to send the seller an email but another auctioner CL'er sort of annoyed me already this week. I could act as a go-between if anyone cuts a deal with him just so I can see it in person.

I went ahead and emailed the Bianchi Rando seller: here's his reply:
+++ begin quote +++
Thanks for your reply, I have been offered from $300 to $500 for it so far, I am really just trying to get an idea what it is worth and I might sell it if the amount looks good. This bike should not be subject to the recall according to what I read on Google ....
+++ end quote +++

Too rich for my budget.

If the Bianchi owner wanted to run an auction he should have put it on E-Bay, not Craigslist. It would be foolish to bid against yourself.

I hear ya and those paint chips as well...

the 3 big ones are the deal-breaker as far as I am concerned, but at about $2K less, that would be a gorgeous bike

I am offering my red Serotta / Murray 14 speed bicycle for sale. If you are reading this add you may already know that there were only 18 of these made for the 7-Eleven team for the 1984 Olympics.

Columbus Tubing, Compagnalo Brakes and crank, Cinelli frame, handlebars, and stem post, Dura Ace shifters and dureillers, Wolber TX profile rims.

All original except for maybe the tires.

Weighs about 10 - 12 pounds.

This bike is a piece of Amarican bicycling history. It belongs in a museum.

Please do your homework before answering this add.

This bike will be available for viewing by appointment only.

The image in this add is not this bike....I am just offering it as an example of one of the 18.

Have a nice day....

Hello I just tried to email him. I am somewhat interested in this but I am will not settle for any games like the last 'garage queen' I purhcased. I may take you up on that inspection offer, I will even spring for a bag of curds to munch on while driving *giggle* that bike could have sold for more than 400 -450 new and I see little reason why is should sell for anything much over about 350. mangalloy DB tubes, cut out luggs, magalloy fork, 27" wheels too!!

So you mean it was a fixie in the back, but a loosy up front? Strange.

I'm told the stiff-wheel in the back isn't quite fixed but doesn't freewheel too easily. I'm thinking it would take a finger off if you got a finger stuck between the chain and chainring but would stop short of taking your whole arm off.

Bianchigirl,
See the quote of the email I got from the West Bend dude, sounds more like he's just fishing for a price and isn't too motivated to sell it. I will be in West Bend around lunchtime tomorrow/Friday however, but I suspect the angler/poster is more into fishing than selling based upon his reply to me the other day.
