Green Men's Road Bike - $150 (South Philly)

Bought this bike for my boyfriend less than six months ago for $175. He's moving out of the city so he no longer needs it. Bike is in great shape. Had a tune up shortly after we got it, and has been rode fairly spairingly since then. It could probably use new tires, but the current ones are still in good working condition. It rides like a dream and has never given him any critical issues. Asking $150. I'll throw in the cable and padlock too! Pick up only. South Philly.

I have this at home now and I'd be inclined to think it's not been ridden in over 50 years if that weren't numerically impossible. So much crud and dirt everywhere. Got for for less than $150 though, so I can't complain. Thread coming soon.

Pretty sharp bike, nice that they kept the original wheels with it. Not sure why they put 27" on. Good luck making an offer, just too clean.

I agree, it looks like it has barely been ridden! The only thing I see not original on the bike is later generation brakes and SR levers.

I don't know enough about those bikes to tell if it's been restored by a photo, but it is entirely possible you made a rare find because I found a couple of bikes that are . I agree with others, run don't walk and get that bike, if I had the money and lived in that area I would have already bought it.

Pictures are not just OK, they are required, especially after a "mystery find" like yours. Start a new post and start uploading!! Congrats on the purchase.

I'm thinking the brakes got changed when they put the 27's on. Mine have Mafac Racers and the pads are topped out. Luuk, start a new thread and post a link here when you get a chance.

Bob Jackson Road Bike
[h=2]Bob Jackson Road Bike - $500 (Brookline)[/h]

condition: excellent

Beautiful vintage Bob Jackson (Leeds, England) road bike with Columbus tubing frame, Shimano Ultra-Gear rear derailleur, Campagnola front derailleur, friction shifters on the down-tube, Mavic rims. This is a wonderful road bike, in excellent condition, well cared for, that gave me many thousands of miles of pleasure, including dozens of century rides. Rides like a dream. The frame was glass-beaded and painted midnight blue at Belmont Wheel Works. The original color was day-glo yellow/green. Perfect for bike collectors and road enthusiasts. Asking $500.00 cash or bank check (no PayPal).
Buyer must pick it up. Get in touch with any questions.

[h=2]Big beautiful blue peugeot px10 62x60 nervex lugs 531 + extras! Campy - $175 (Fenway)[/h]

size / dimensions: 62x60

Up for grabs is a super cool seldom seen blue peugeot px10 an early enough model with beautiful nervex professional lugs and Reynolds 531 tubes the frame also features the rather rare non drive drop out horn

The frame also comes with a good amount of top end French parts including a beautifully polished open backed pivo stem and pivo bars wrapped in black cloth bar tape brakes are very nice MAFAC competition with awesome drilled levers (also set up and read to ride) also included and installed will be a Stronglight headset and French sized seat post the frame comes with huret jubilee front derailluer (needs tweaking and work) as well as huret over the bottom bracket clamp on cable guide lastly is an early set of campagnolo clamp on friction shifters

the paint on the frame is overall very nice for such an old frame missing a bit on the forks to reveal some of the chrome underneath

please note the drop out hanger is the french style (i.e. not threaded) so it will require a french style rear derailleur

I purchased this bike and it's been shipped to Chicago. I had two Bikeforums facilitators offer to assist, but the seller shipped the bike promptly and in good condition.

Gorgeous Vintage 63cm Japanese Raleigh Competition-DB Reynolds 531

Gorgeous Vintage 63cm Japanese Raleigh Competition-DB Reynolds 531 - $300 (Georgetown)

Early 80's steel lugged high end Raleigh Competition or perhaps a Professional. Rare one made in Japan rather than England. Quality full double butted Reynolds 531 frame, forks and stays. Incredibly light for a steel bike of this large size. Impeccable craftsmanship and gorgeous cut-out lugwork, deep metallic navy paint with chrome tipped forks and forged Suntour Pro dropouts. This bike radiates beauty and quality.

Some of the components have been upgraded, here is a list:
Phil Wood (!) bottom bracket & Avocet cranks
Specialized headset
Campagnolo Record hubs with 700c Saturne HC19 anodized rims & Shimano 600 freewheel
Suntour Superbe clamp on downtube shifters and front and rear derailleurs
Brooks Champion Narrow B17 leather saddle
Gran Compe (Campy ripoff) brake calipers and levers

63cm c-c seat tube, 58cm c-c top tube

Nice! Those lugs and color scheme are so classic cool. Looking forward to seeing when done.
BTW: I just received a pair of like brakes with the Peugeot logo. I don't have a Peugeot but was planning to use on another project. The quality and finish is beautiful plus seem to have precise tolerances in the pivots. The backs only indicate 'France' but are these a variant of the Mafac Competition?
