50cm Black Lightning

Circa 1988 small frame Cannondale Black Lightning

[h=2]Circa 1988 small frame Cannondale Black Lightning - $350 (N. Raleigh)[/h]

condition: excellent

I am selling a special edition Cannondale Black Lightning model bicycle. It is a small frame 50cm and 650c whells (I think).
It has all the original componentry, complete with gold trim everywhere (even the chain).
It looks great, and served as a wonderful entry level racing bike for my daughter back in the day when she was interested (for a very short while) in youth triathlon.
If you would like any more specs, info, or pictures, or want to come by for a look or test ride just let me know.

There's a Tommasini on CL in San Diego (Escondido) that's a 59cm Columbus steel frame with good, Campy and similar componentry that the seller is looking for $600, which is half of it's market value. If I could ride a 59 cm bike, I'd be all over it. As it was, I was tempted to buy it and part it out.

I picked up the two Merckx bikes and some Merckx swag today. They are both in very good condition however they haven't been ridden for about ten years so I will be breaking them down completely and rebuilding. Both bikes are in the Motorola team colors. The small one is made of Columbus TSX tubing so I don't know if it is a Century or Corsa Extra. The MX Leader was built for cycling's bad boy Michel Zanoli who got kicked off the Motorola team before he rode this bike. Here are a couple of pictures of the MX Leader before I break it down.

What a fantastic find for you.

The smaller one is likely a Century.

looks like a 1974, worthy of restoration. My wife would kill me if I bought it.

Schwinn Voyageur - $195 (logan square)

Im trying to sell my Schwinn Voyageur due to the fact that its getting cold, I would have put it for more but since its winter, I put it on sale. The bike is in good condition and runs very smooth. its a vintage bike that originates from japan and has very nice components. There are some scratches but the paint is silver coding and then paint on top of that coding. The bike is about 50 years old and the everything is original except the new tires I put in. Its a big frame for someone that is about 5'8 and up. If you are interested or even want to look at it please contact me, Thank you.

Wow, I am glad it worked out, did the seller mention how he came into possession of such a great bike? Let's see the l'il one too, maybe in the Catch of the Day thread?

At $950, this is not super cheap but it is a very nicely equipped titanium Lemond

https://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/bik/4717629396.html

And this De Rosa has been sitting for nearly a month, I am sure the seller will go lower than his $950 asking price

That Croll is a lot of bike for the money. Likely built by Erik Noren of Peacock Groove. The House of Kolor paint on those Crolls was especially rich.

Grady, I think you are correct about it being a Century. Both chain stays are chrome which match the Century bikes. It has a Motorola Cycling Team decal where the model decal would be.

Here is the story I got from the seller. He said that team riders would have 6-7 frames built for the racing season. When Michel Zanoli punched Davis Phinney and got kicked off the team he still had this frame waiting in the wings. The seller said he owned a bike shop and knew the team mechanic. The frame had been in the mechanic's possession. The seller ended up buying the frameset from the mechanic.

Here is a picture of the little Merckx complete with goofy saddle and stem.

Miyata 112 - $185 (San Clemente)

Another rescue bike from pacelinebikes.com. We just finished this rehab of a '87 Miyata One Twelve.
Quality detailing with refurbished headset, bottom bracket, hubs, and freewheel. Original paint in very good condition with some scratches but no dents or bends. 53cm. New parts include: saddle, cables, cable housing, tires, tubes, rim tape, handlebar tape, period correct toe cages and straps. You won't find an 80's 12 speed in this condition for this price. Check out the seat post and the detailing that was done to the areas you don't see with the saddle in place. Every nut, washer, spring, and bolts on the brakes as well as the headset components, bottom bracket components were cleaned, brass brushed, and polished. Only $185

I own 2 Miyatas, and that bike is no where near worth $185, maybe $100 and no more than $125. I know the seller may have put a lot of time and effort into making it look good but he put too much time and effort into for what that bike is worth. Depending on the market though he may find a fool that will part their money for that...but I guess it's better that buying a Chinamart bike!
