[h=2]Trek 400 Steel 61cm - $150 (Brookline)[/h]

Nice big frame for big dudes looking for a fixie conversion project or downtube shifter cruiser. Frame is in great condition, with horizontal drops. Paint has been bumped and bruised. Ideally a conversion project, but will cruise as aligned. $100 w/o Campy Centaur pedals. Think powdercoat and new wheelset, and you're there. If the ad is up, its available.

Hard to tell from the crappy pictures, but it could be one of the Falcon-built Merckx frames. These were nothing special: Reynolds 531 for the 3 main tubes was their only claim to fame.

Sounds all original if you're into that sort of thing....

Vintage Chicago Schwinn Sports Tourer Road Bike Brooks Campagnolo - $150 (Boulder, CO)

A baby Paramount so to speak!

Gorgeous all-original, handcrafted silver fillet brazed CrMo 1970's Chicago Schwinn Sports Tourer, made inside of the famous "Cage" where the Paramounts were also handmade right next to them.

Includes original Brooks Champion B-15 leather saddle in excellent condition. Orig Campagnolo/Chicago Schwinn drivetrain. Even the handlebar tape is orig.

Original Weinmann alloy quick release wheel set from Belgium- Super smooth and fast.

If you are not familiar with these very special vintage classics, please hit Google and type in "Fillet Brazed Schwinn Sheldon Brown".

Tall Men's- Great fit for a rider 6' to 6'6. Excellent city commuter or touring road bike!

Details- Willing to trade this for an old saxophone. If I can keep the old Brooks leather saddle I will put a very nice Surly touring road bike seat on and you can have the bike for $150. Otherwise if you want the leather Brooks the total price will be $200.

I think your vision is good velognome.

Not a bad price at $300 - it's a fun bike if you want a tandem, and nicer than the department store stuff.

This bike makes me just sad. WTF 26" steel rims and cheap riser bars on Team level racing frame this bike needs to be rescued from it's current abusurer.

Is that red top tube home made or is that part of the original paint?

Some moron painted the top tube, I guess to cover up the Crest logo. Things like this make me want to become Bike Avenger.

The red paint on the Canondale does look suspect like maybe someone painted over the original rider/owners name. Makes me think that this may have been stolen at some point and stripped of the orginal custom Campy components and a second or third party after that just built it up with whatever the had.

Those Crest bikes were mostly just regular old SR500's with Shimano 105, a white paint job and some graphics. I think there were maybe 150-250 of them all in.

Not sure how many actual 'team' bikes there were in that livery but doubt that particular example was ever raced.

Good possibility that the red paint on the top tube and seat cluster is hiding a repair job. At least the person who did that matched up the cable color to the frameset and grips.
