Centurion Pro Tour in PHX ... 56cm!! Not a steal, but a very fair price on what appears to be a nice, original bike.

Copy and paste of ad is being grumpy, so I guess just follow the link. Sorry about that.

Early Merlin.

https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/bik/5672940199.html

Merlin Mountain Bike - 17 in - vintage - $1100 (Newton)

make / manufacturer: Merlin
model name / number: Mountain bike
serial number: 2436

safety tips
prohibited items
product recalls
avoiding scams
For sale is a 1989 (?) Merlin mountain bike, manufactured in Somerville. Here's the details:

- 17 in titanium frame
- NOS Suntour XC pro canti brakes
- Suntour XC cranks (175)
- Shimano 8spd XT rear derailleur, XTR front derailleur
- Mavic 317 wheels (26in), XTR hubs
- Bear trap pedals
- Syncros seatpost
- Custom Nivacrom fork, 1in treadless
- Chris King 1in headset. New bearings, installed by Chris King.

Currently the bike is set up with mustache bars (One Off), a Ritchie Pro stem, Cane Creek road levers, and Dura Ace 8spd bar end shifters. I also have, and am selling as part of this bike:

- Original Ritchey Logic fork (threaded). Includes Chris King lock nut for headset
- Titec titanium flat bar
- Salsa 1in quill stem

Basically, you can keep this bike set up for commuting/touring/rando or set it up as a classic rigid mountain bike.

This is frame number 2436. Best as I can tell, this frame was built in the late 80's. It's in great shape overall. Wheels have very low miles.

Email with questions. These are pretty rare, so no low ball offers or trades. Thanks for looking.

I have for sale an early 1980's Bianchi Randonneur bike which was a Japanese model but it was their top of the line touring bike at the time. Not a Vitus fan but at $475 those look a lot like Cobalto brakes missing the stone. On my phone they do anyway.

It took a while but this bike finally got into my possession. The seller sent the original Dura Ace crank set so the one on it now has to go. What to do with that silly stem and handlebar?

Thanks @Lascauxcaveman for your assistance. And thank you Jet for posting this bike.

Nice price on a well equipped Battaglin. Geographically in my neck of the woods, unfortunately very far way from me in terms of fit.
