This may be overpriced by at least 20% and probably bigger than a 58cm but it looks nice, IMO. Is Fuji Valite quad butted tubing?

File under "never seen one of these"

1960s DBS Winner 3 speed touring bike 54cm (Norway-27" wheels)
1960s DBS Winner 3 speed touring bike 54cm (Norway-27" wheels) - $40 (Plymouth (just off 394)

4cm or 21" frame with 32" standover
Made in Norway/ Appears to be mostly original. Has German Bendix hub. Hub works, but shifter slides out of 1st gear. With a replacement Bendix or Sachs shifter, it would work perfectly or you can hold shifter down while going in low gear. . .

-----------------

More pix, looks like the seller of the Ross Ishiwata of a few weaks ago, $40 seems pretty cheap.

I've used a Bendix hub, I didn't know it was German, it was okay.

The fenders look pretty unique, whatever on how they decided to sell it at that, maybe because it has some mechanical problems. Pretty nice I think.

Made in Norway, you don't see that kind of bike often.

Chrome fork, frame painted green.

Custom-made Green Pedersen Bicycle

Handmade tubular steel Pedersen Bicycle by Jesper Solling. The bike was rarely used over the years, so it is still in near-pristine condition. Feel free to contact me via text or e-mail with any questions!

The seller and & I have come to an understanding with regard to this bike. Instead of trying to arrange shipping, I decided to come to Chicago and pick it up. I'm flying up from Los Angeles on Thursday December 1st, stay for a couple of days, and take the train back to Los Angeles with the bike. I'm combining a nice visit to Chicago and a sightseeing tour via Amtrak. I'm really looking forward to the trip.

Can I buy a forum member a drink while I'm there? I can use suggestions on how to get around downtown Chicago on this bike. Very short rides only as I'm not used to cycling in cold weather. Also, where should I try the world renowned Chicago deep dish pizza?

Pizza Uno's, in downtown. Welcome to Pizzeria Uno & Due Portal

29 E. Ohio. In a touristy part of town, but the pizza is the best there is in the city if you're looking for deep dish.

Where are you staying? I can give some recommendation on bike routes, rides, places to go.

Oh sorry didn't see the part about saying downtown. Going to be honest...downtown is a bit tricky on a bike. BUT, you will be very close the lakefront bike path, and at this time of the year it will not be overly crowded if you want to go for a ride. Also...depending on your definition of 'short' you can venture out into the neighborhoods of Chicago on the bike. A mile or 2 will get you out of downtown.

Terrific! We're usually between two places, Bloomington and NW area of Chicago but will figure out a schedule to meet up. Also, we're having our family Thanksgiving in the city / Chicago. Temps' have been gorgeous for riding, though today a little chilly.

Lets PM and discuss. Depending on your size, welcome to borrow cool weather riding gear. Maybe try to get a few others to join. Cheer's~

(ps: No guarantee, but will see if my nephew in the city has extra room. Constantly flying, don't know what his schedule is, but he's all about having fun. Could do some C&V ride as well.)

I'm looking forward to doing the lakefront bike path. Hopefully the combination of the cold weather and the other thing that Chicago is very famous for (wind) will be bearable. We Southern Californians are weather wimps.

Hah, it really isn't that bad. Helmet or hat, gloves, windproof jacket of some sort, jeans, and you'll be fine. Weather here is not testing intestinal fortitude yet. Give it a month lol!

Depending on how far you want to ride, there are some very nice beer bars a few miles to the northwest of downtown I like, and then my absolute favorite is this: Hopleaf Bar

That's a bit of a trek from downtown, but perfectly doable. Not sure how much you're looking to test mileage on that bike though. If you just want to get out for drinks though it's not all that far for an Uber ride.

P.S. You can take the lakefront path for about 80% + of the distance to get to the hop leaf. It's 7 miles from the touristy area of downtown. Would be a very nice ride if the distance works. Depending on how much you want to trust having that bike on streets, you can check out Lincoln Park, Lincoln Square, and Andersonville neighborhoods in the area/on the way. Lots to see and do. You'll pass by the big, free zoo on Lincoln Park on the way as well.

The lakefront and scenery is great. Definitely should do.

(Ps. Just recvd. reply from my nephew. Regrets won't be around. He'll be in L.V. Dec.1 to 4th.)

This may be someone's grail bike. I suspect the only reason it's still available is that it was mistakenly posted in San Diego Craigslist, rather than the Bay Area where it actually resides:
