That's a great bike for a collector. Mavic is a real upgrade over Simplex and is scarce. If it was my size...

Rather odd that it's wearing chrome rims; but still a fair price. One would most likely want to get a nice new 700c rim upgrade anyway, wouldn't one?

It is very dirty and the paint is chipped a lot, but I can't see any obvious frame damage. But as you said, the parts are worth more than $200; the cranks, bottom bracket and front derailleur alone would probably get you the purchase price back.

I don't see the damage either, although there could easily be some for the poor pics, what do you see?

Could be camera angle but the down tube behind the head tube looks distorted. Add to that the poor over all condition and a front wheel not installed...

I see that as a distinct possibility as well. The paper/wrapping around the front of the top tube looks like it could be obscuring a slight bend as well. For $200, it's worth at least asking a question. Assuming it's straight and not too rusty, say, on the inside, it's a great candidate for a powder coat--chrome looks toast, so no loss there. Otherwise, leave as is and make it a killer theft-proof daily rider.

The wrapping is whats left of the brake hoods pulled down the cables, why wouldn't you just take them off.

The bummer for me is that I fit a 26" frame in height/clearance, but not in reach as those things ran a 62cm TT or so. Crazy long. A 25" Paramount is already at 60cm. I do like that green. I think it'd clean up pretty well, actually.

Agreed all around, color and cleanup. That being said, if there is damage it may be very slight and may not affect the ride at all. Hmm....

Beautiful, tall Raleigh Competition GS - $300 - 25.5" - Campagnolo, chrome and paint (components too) are just in such lovely shape!

1983 Trek 720 - Trade for similar yet smaller bike or cash offer - 25.5" (so I am kinda drooling at it right now) - Looks to be in great shape. Huret Duopar RD has been changed for a Suntour ARX GT.

Small Vitus 992 for $400. This has been listed for about a year and price has finally drifted down to a reasonable range. Pic loader is balky right now.
