Benotto

Looking for my second project and have to, once again, bow down to the all knowing bike forum mb....

So, my question of the day is....is this an Italian Benotto or hecho en Mexico? The parts are not original, or at least the SR campy gruppo isn't. Not sure about the other...

Thx!

From the photo's it is pretty impossible to tell if it's Italian of Mexican but I reckon that if you were putting money on the outcome the very safe bet would be to put your money on it being Mexican.

This is my bicycle,

I was told by a few different sources that this particular frame is an Italian built Benotto.

This is my second Modelo 3000, the SR grouppo on this one came from my other Modelo 3000, in champagne.

On this Pearl frame, the chainstays are not diamond, and the BB shell has 2 rectangular cut outs with a "B". Also there are blue filled cut-outs on the lugs.

Ive only seen Modelo 3000's in champagne, which was the color of my old one. This frame lacked the lug cut-outs, had diamond chainstays and had a heart in the BB shell.

I can provide serial numbers and/or other photos upon request.

I guess what I am looking for is the proper info on the production of this "Mother of Pearl" colored frame.
