Hello Moto

As far as I can tell, it is a 71 or 72 Grand Record. I bought the frame and fork and built up using my 77 Grand Jubile parts. It weights a little over 26lbs with fenders and heavy 27" wheels/tires. It is such a fun bike to ride, very springy. The moustache bar is a little scary at first and took some time for me to get a hang of it. I have to say it is quite comfortable. The look from other riders are priceless.

Nice build on the GR. Is the red/black bike a Le Champion?

dck, you are good. It is a 1971 Le Champion.

Thought so. It looks a lot like the one I bought as a frameset and built-up into a commuter.

Mine is not as nice. It doesn't have chrome fork tips or stays. It was repainted also, but done very nicely by R&E Cycle here in Seattle. Other than the paint, I think everything on it was original, may be even the tires. Any idea what year is yours. I will post a picture later.

What fenders did you mount on that? I tried SKS commuter fenders on my Mirage Sport, but couldn't get them to clear.

Don't know about dck, but mine are Planet Bike Freddy Fenders.

Mine are planet bike also, but you'll notice I cut the mudflap off both front and back and shortened the back fender a little and removed one of the stays.

I HAVE to get my Grand Record frame blasted and primed! I want to ride it before it gets cold out!!,,,,BD

Looking good!!!

Here is the before pic. Pretty sad, and almost nothing original component wise..
