CV stuff as wall art

I just moved into a new house this summer, and have been mulling over using some heap of parts, or even frames as wall art.

I have a few ideas. Maybe something as simple as hanging a frame over the couch. Maybe something a bit mroe complicated like making something out of old chains I have sitting around.

But, I am curious if anyone else has done anything in this regard. Or even has ideas of their own.

Sure! In fact, I have a 1983 Freschi Supreme frameset that was badly damaged in a move from London back in '95. My intention is to mount it in a framework with a glass front, blue velvet background and a plaque that reads: 'When Bad Things Happen To Good Bikes'

Go for it!

If my Carbon fiber Peugeot doesnt respond well to the repair it needs I would surely hang the frame up, not ridable but it still looks magnificent.

I have a slightly dented Peugeot PSV-10 frame hanging on my wall.

I have a Witcomb USA frame I crashed and bent at RAGBRAI in '78 or '79 (can't remember), that I've kept for just that purpose. It hangs in the basement now, with months old paint and the head tube angle unnaturally steep. Lost the fork along the way.

Yeah, yeah, hanging a beloved old frame is a great idea.

But anyone done anything else? Strikes me that chainrings are beautiful. And cranks. And chain itself seems like it could be used in lots of interesting ways.

Wall art? Coffee table pieces? Mobiles?
