velo orange moderiste

what's everyone's experience with this cage? i think it'd look nice on my peugeot but i'm not certain how well it's going to hold bottles.

Which one? If its the "artsy" one I like it! and I'm pretty sure it will hold your bottle just fine. the other looks like just any other water bottle cage.

I have their "retro" cage and like how it looks and works so far...here's a bad pic of it on my '80 mclean:

I was looking at the Moderniste (fancy one) when I was searching for a new bottle cage. Ended up going with a Retro cage, but still like the Moderniste

The artsy one actually holds the stainless bottles much better than the conventional shape.

Even then, these bottles rattle, so a leather sleeve helps reduce vibration, but it doesn't appear VO carries them any longer.

they carry the short elkhide handlebar cover for 15 bux though. That's enough leather to take care of a few cages and a set of toe clips.

Yes, i meant the fancy looking one. I just have worries about it on a rough road.

not sure the elk hide would look right on my bike. white bar tape, white seat, red paint. i could do something in white though....

You could always use their sew-on toe clip leathers, as I did...

I have one on the bars of my Moto using the VO handlebar mount clamp. Works fine with the El Cheapo wallyworld bottles and the upscale Sig bottles I use.

No offense, but those comps look kinda out of place on the TIGed LHT.

Great idea, and the build looks great on that frame. I like Surly's proletariat colors.
