On of the mistakes I made in the past year was passing up on a Colnago Mexico ORO. The gold plating was rough but I could've picked it up for $7-800.

Wow, that looks cool!
I didn't know there was such an option for the bikes when I got my 84 PSV.
I wonder if they only made it for non-Vitus framed models only.

As far as I can tell its was a 1 time option for the French market PGN10 only.

Sounds great Jim! I loved Miami when I visited for a week long convention in 2001 but over here in England, one bike is stolen every 71 seconds in the capital, London and it's not too much better in the surrounding counties. My son has had six bikes so far in his life. He outgrew the first, the next four were stolen and his current bike is the latest insurance replacement for the last one, which he managed to keep for four years until it vanished complete with it;s armoured high security lock! I guess the difference might be living in a country where thieves are actually put in jail!

I'm in Tampa now and my particular neighborhood is very safe. I lived in Miami for 10 years and wouldnt dare leave my bike unattended for 2 seconds.

I saw it in person, and was highly unimpressed by it. Furthermore, I wasn't impressed with the owner either (who had bought it a couple days prior off Craigslist - to flip it - (guess where?) on Craigslist for double the price he paid for it.

For all I know, he's probably still sitting on it.
