Another what is my Peugeot thread !

Hi,

My uncle, who's in France, picked un this Peugeot for me for a whopping 1 euro and I'm trying to figure out if it's a model worthy of being shipped to Canada as a whole.

It has Mafac Racer brakes and a Stronglight crankset as well as forged Simplex dropouts. Not pictured is the Ideale saddle Modele 80 that came with it . The only part I could not identify are the hubs.

Thanks !

Depends on how much shipping is to the Canada. One thing I suggest is shipping only the stuff you want to keep, the deraillers, steel cranks, seatpost, even pedals could stay in france from what I can see.

thanks!

I am thinking of having him ship me the cranks, BB, cable clamps, Derailleurs, saddle and hubs . The rest probably isn't worth the shipping cost... I think.

I am guessing that having a complete bike shipped from france is around $250 for surface

Not the frame?

What are the rims, that they're not worth shipping?

Leave it in France. You can find a beater PA10 on this side of the Pond. Save your money for that next Legnano.

Ha ha , don't worry , when I find that next Roma the money will be there. Unfortunately , Legnanos are shy these days.

The point is that I either take whatever I can from this bike and have it shipped to me, have him take the bike to a shop so they can pack and ship (unlikely) or he ''recycles'' the whole thing.

rhm, the rims may be Mavic, but honestly , whole wheels are rarely worth shipping especially when they have rusted spokes and are not top of the shelf.

The crank is cottered steel. The hubs are probably Normandy Sport. The frame is heavy. The derailers are worth nothing. The brakes can be had new for $50. Leave it in France.

I wasn't expecting those kind of responses , but it is pretty much what I am thinking and I agree. Here is why I want the crankset

Is this auction an anomaly or just a totaly diffrent crankset?
