With all the rip offs on the web, this poor guy is having trouble finding one. He's been advertising at least as long as I've lived in this town so he must be serious. Can anyone help him out?

There would appear to be some sentimental value, which is perfectly fine. I started out with an entry level 10 speed, that most would consider a piece of junk. It was a far cry what what I've grown to appreciate, yet it was my first step on a long and fascinating journey. For that reason alone, if I ever found one in good condition, I'd snap it up.

I saw one yesterday for $5. They would have had to pay me twice that to take it.

Yeah, my first car was a Rambler American. Chartruse, belched oil, the AM radio only got oldies and country. My friends called it the "Mean Green Farting Machine. Real piece of junk. I'd give anything to have it back.

S.B.,
Check out the $30 Giant RS900 road bike (Marlboro) on Hudson Valley CL. There is also a $15 Fuji Gran Tourer Mixte. There is also a $70 SOMA road bike. That guy must really want a Royce Union
I would have grabbed the RS900, even if it needs a back wheel.

I forget who now, but last week someone started a thread about how to get rid of old unwanted frames, and he mentioned that amoung them was a R-U. He was from CT, so not that far from here. Twice I posted that someone local was looking for a R-U, and that he should respond. Wonder if he did.

The Fuji (now down to $15) is probably well worth it for parts, although the poster admits that it's a rust bucket.

I've picked up rust buckets for cheap. Sometimes it's a loss. But most of the time, they are worth the parts and frequently they can be reclaimed.

I understand this "royce union" guy 100%!.....For whatever reason, I am always willing to buy A particular vertical PK7, that I bought in 2002 from target....and also the 2003 Giant Warp Ds3 model.

I rode a Royce Union ten speed for years back in the 70s. It needed constant fiddling to keep it in tune, but I loved it for what it was. If I could find a burnt orange one in the right size, I'd pick it up. It rode better than my Varsity, but was more fragile. Replace the shifters, brake and upgrade the rims, it wouldn't be a bad bike.
