Beautiful Schwinn Prelude Ice Pink 1987 62cm

Been hanging for last 15 plus years, maybe 2 or 3 scratches. Anyone like these bikes? I will try to post a picture if I can figure it out. All 100% stock 9/10 shape everywhere

I had both a Prelude and its cousin (one step up) Tempo earlier this year. Both really nice bikes.

I like these bikes a lot! I have an 87 Super Sport, and I picked up an 85 tempo for my brother-in-law. Both of the rides are great in my opinion.

I loved and miss my Prelude. That frame just fit me all the right ways and had a nice all day geometry.

Enjoy it!

Is that a thrift store shot? If the bike fits you and it's a fair price, I'd jump on it.

I seem to be getting in the market for late 80's Schwinn Tempo/Prelude/Circuit bikes at just the right time. I can't tell you how much interest there is for these bikes amongst some of my vintage-bike friends, PacNW thing? I don't know.

My dad was pissed I dropped around $500 for a "Mississippi Paramount" 88 Circuit; he spent around $500 in 85 for his Tempo. Then I sent him this link, and he now thinks I may have gotten a bargain:

https://www.therecyclery.com/bikes/schwinn-tempo.

In terms of bang for the buck, think about it: if Schwinn was losing money on the MI plant, presumably they were losing money on the bikes. Think about what an equivalent $$$ will get you nowadays!

Wow. Those prices are impressive. If they're moving those bikes, demand must be pretty strong.

I picked one up from craigslist. It's a very lively bike.

I've got the 87 "Midnight Mauve " prelude in excellent condition. $300 for these? really? I still ride mine every week. My hybrid got forked when it was on the roof rack and my wife pulled into the garage : (
