Is this worth it?

I would like to find a nice original steel bike, this one seems to fit the bill. Any input would be great, thanks. |
sorry, I think this is it

I wouldn't wait too long. Looks like a nice clean bike. If it's your size and in good condition, I'd say go for it. The price appears fair, but always try to negotiate down. :thumb:

The price seems fair, but we don't know what componets are on it other then Shimano, but which Shimano? I was never a fan of Peugeot's because the frames were always noodly, but if your not going to be riding hard or into mountains then it would be fine. I would offer $100 cash.

It is a med. size frame. My current is a 56 cannondale, will the bike fit? What is the standover?

Go try it and if it fits and isn't all busted up buy it and ride it. It's a nice bike. Or pretty nice. Well I used to own the one like it but a couple years older and I liked it. If it were here in Tampa and my size and I wasn't already loaded down with more road bike than I have any use for I'd buy it. |
I kind of doubt that bike will fit. In my experience, Cannondales run BIG for the size. So a 56cm Cannondale is going to be quite a bit larger than a medium frame from another manufacturer.

Really? You mean the modern frames? I had an old 3.0, and the 58cm fit more like a 56/57. They measured the frame c-t, BB to top of seat tube, which had an extended mast.
I had a 1987 Cannondale T600, in a 23 inch frame. It had a standover that was 1 1/2 inches higher than my 1987 Miyata 215 in a 23 inch frame. The Cannondale was also as tall as my 1983 Fuji Touring Series IV (24 inch frame). As I recall, that 23 inch Cannondale was measured C to C. I no longer have the bike, so I can't double check it. I believe the Miyata 23 inch is C to T. I just picked up a 1985 T500 with a 21 inch frame. We'll have to see how it sizes up. |
