Comparable frames to Raleigh International?
 

I just got a '74 Raleigh International a few weeks ago that is absolutely the best riding bike I've ever been on. I don't know how much to attribute to finally having a bike my size, the relaxed geometry, the long wheelbase, or the Reynolds 531 tubing. I'm looking for a bike to build up for my lady, and am wondering what frames you guys like for touring that would be comparable in terms of comfort. Thanks. -Scott

What size? A friend just mentioned he might sell one he has: about a 21-21 1/2" as I recall, repainted, no chrome, Tipo hubs. An earlier one with the pencil stays...

I have a 74 International as well. I love the champagine paint job, the touring geometry, the light frame, and the lugs, but I'm pissed that the previous owner changed out the stock Campagnolo Strada pedals for crappy KKTs and that he let the Brooks saddle dry out. :(

A lugged Bridgestone/Kabuki frame would be comparable, as well as anything Reynolds 531.

I've got a '71 Raleigh Grand Sports that I just finished restoring. Full double-butted 531 frame that is not as flashy as an International, but gives a great ride.
