Univega Gran Record ?
 

Can anybody tell me about this Univega model?

I picked it up about 2 weeks ago and I still have yet to have seen another one or find any info on it?

It was converted to a SS but I'm curious as to what it was/had originally.

That would depend on the exact year. The Gran Records I've seen were early 1990s, lower, mid-range models. Typically seamed, butted CrMo frames with Shimano 105SC. You should post pics and the serial number, if you want corroboration or more info.
