Funky Paramount

I didn't realize that Paramounts came with an Ashtabula crank. https://cgi.ebay.com/All-Orig-1973-Sc...d=p3286.c0.m14

At least he says it's a Paramount cousin.

I can't remember- were the Supersports fillet-brazed? If so, they are somewhat desirable, even with an Ashtabula crank.

More like a third cousin twice removed.

Yes, Supersport was fillet brazed, and had the Ashtabula crank.

Were they filet brazed or Electroforged? Only Schwinn go to all the trouble to filet braze a frame and stick a 20lb crank in it.

OK, I just read the Sheldon Brown pages- It *is* a cousin to the Paramount- made on the same line by the better craftsmen in the factory. Not at all like the electroforged Varsities and Continentals.

OP. Why the reference to Paramount in your post title? The seller makes no mention of Paramount.

If you look at the ebay subtitle the seller made the Paramount reference.

cs1, yes they are filet brazed cromoly. And yes, leave it to Schwinn to add 30 pounds of steel parts!

They are somewhat desirable but so so so different than a Paramount. They did come with a Brooks B15 too. Pastor Bob and Scooper know a thing or two about their potential though.

Don't let the pounds fool you, its a sweet bike with an even sweeter ride, and lets not forget the Sport Tourer.
