I picked up a bike last night from the 70 year old original owner. She claims that she got the bike for her 10th or 11th birthday. That makes it around a '49 or '50. The seat is wrong and the chain guard is missing. The frame has been poorly repaired but the bike is ridable. It looks very similar to this bike that is on the auction site right now. Mine does have a rear rack that appears to be correct for the bike.

The serial number begins "A1" but the rest is covered by welding.

I have been unable to find much information on Roadmasters from this time period. I'm looking for some good sources of information. Does anyone have information, or pictures that would help me determine the year of this bike? Any information would be appreciated.
