1970s? Coventry Eagle
 

I got this bicycle a few weeks ago, and I cant find much information about this brand, or about this bike. The guy at my LBS said the name sounded familiar but he couldn't tell me anything about it. I know they were a motorcycle/bicycle manufacturer in Coventry, England that eventually got bought out by Falcon in the 80s. I'm just curious as to this bike's history.

Looks remarkably well-preserved! Could you post a few more pictures of detail areas (fork crown, seat tube and bottom bracket clusters, decals, dropouts, and a drive-side shot)? Lesson #1: drive-side is always preferred over left side. I've snarfed a few photos of a CE or two from the Internet, if you PM me I could put them up on Flickr.
