Creative restoration

I'm still pretty new to classic bikes and am probably not doing this the right way, so before I put a top coat on this I'd like to know if the newer style decals look wrong on this frame. I think at least the top tube logo is a bit large, or maybe doesn't even belong.

Does it need this kind instead?

Your logo placement on the top tube is original and I think it looks great. Clear coat away and ride in good health.

Thanks. The kit came with another size smaller, about an inch. Apparently the model name sometimes goes there.

I can't comment on the correctness, but I think it looks great! Make sure to post the rest of the build.

I say go for it.
if it were a 1940s folgore I'd be screaming to the rafters
as it isn't why not?
I'm beginning to like out of the box thinking on everyday bikes.

Oh, I hate celeste, that's why I stripped off all the original paint and decals.

I like a celeste frame, but the Irish treatment looks killer. Biancho'malley.

I think you can get a celeste pump, hoods, wrap, pedals, tires, cage, bottle, saddle, etc. A little over the top.

If a bike is to have all one color, let it be a shade of black....

That bike looks great. It's a great bike. Great job. Great color, great decals. Just great.

It's your bicycle. Do whatever makes it more appealing to you, so that it will get ridden more.

If one chooses to powdercoat a vintage frame, try to be faithful to the original. A restored bike, looked after, will outlast us all.

The down tube logos are always closer to the top of the tube because you are always looking down at them. Look at the logos on the celeste bike. They almost touch at the top center of the tube. Yours might be a tad low, it's hard to say. I learned this the hard way when I had to remove some that I'd applied too low and order new ones.

I have these on the same way. The bottle cage mounts make the imaginary line between the tops of each side.

In the year 2028 some collector will be mightily confused by the Craig's List ad.

Perfect.
