brake lever sizes.....
I have a old fuji sports 10 that i want to build up into a beater for winter.
I went and got some old shimano 600 levers which are non areo.
I went to put them on and i cant get them to torque down. It is almost like they are made for a different diameter bar.
The old diacompe levers that are on there are work fine.....they just have that stupid nub where the extra brake handle thing goes. I could just hack that off but even though it is going to be a beater id like it to at least be somewhat normal looking

You might have 24mm levers on a 23.8mm bar, but that would be weird. I think all other clamp/bar combinations would be too different for your issue not to be obvious.
You could use a strip of aluminum can.

throw a little bit of old inner tube under the levers, and they will tighten up. you'll tape over them so you don't have to worry about it looking nice.

I agree with Mr Spock. it is quite logical that a fuji sports has smaller diameter bar. unless I am confused I thought the sports was a lower end model? and while the poster does not mention the year, (hint hint) I am asuming it to be an early '80?

if you look closely at the clamps on the Dia Compes you might see number stamped on them.
