A grab-and-go saddlebag?

Thought I might post here, as I'm looking to rig a vintage commuter with a saddle bag. I've been looking at a few models (mostly the oh-so spacious Carradice Nelson Longflap) and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a good bag that I could readily detach and carry around with me between classes, errands, etc. I'll admit I don't like the look of the SQR system very much, and would also like to use the bag for some overnights, etc. so some capacity would be nice. Would a bagman QR do me right?

What, Oh Classicists and Vintagites, should I lash to my saddle?

Well, you'll need some sort of rack to hold a big bag like that up. If you don't already have a rack, the Bagman QR would be a good way to go.

Otherwise get a Nitto Saddlebag Grip:
