stubbled across 2 huge touring bikes...

big TREK gray paint blue trim... I couldnt find a model # on it but it had a triple up front... 720 or 730?

and a ginourmous Nishiki Cresta it was packed in with some other bikes... what does anyone know about the either?

I thought I heard those Treks had flexy chain stays???

Nishiki looked nice enough (all original from what I could see)...

think he wanted $80-85 for each...

***NO I have no pix... sorry

I had a Nishiki Cresta GT at one time. It was a nice Japanese CrMo touring bike. You might be able to narrow down the Trek model by perusing vintage-trek.com. They list models by color/year/serial #, etc. If the bikes are truly touring models and in any kind of decent shape, $80 is a real bargain. As a matter of fact, if you pick them up, let me know, I'd be interested in one if it was 64-67cm.

The Cresta was Nishiki's mid-range, mid-1980s, grand touring bicycle. It's roughly equivalent to a Miyata 610. Original price was $360US, circa 1985.

how huge are these? and where did you see them? I am not a big trek fan but a good deal on a nice steel tourer is hard to pass up. did the trek have cantilevers or sidepulls?

For a flipper, it doesn't matter. Any steel vintage Trek is worth that pricing. Look up the serial number after buying and you will know what it is.

I would be interested in either of them too. My frame size is around 65cm. I also agree that any decent steel touring bike is worth the price those were going for.
