Vintage MAFAC tire patch kit
I posted this a long while ago but thought a few new members might get a kick out of it.

It's a patch kit and what appears to be a set of small wrenches? It's never been opened so I'm just going on what I can translate from the french printing.

I had one of these. It was rad. I don't know what happened to it. a quick google led me to this:https://www.classiclightweights.co.uk...fac2-comp.html
Tool Kits
A Mafac tool kit is ideal for fitting their brakes. For example the cable clamps required two 9mm spanners to adjust which all toolkits came with.
The first versions of the tool kit were in a metal box which had Securite and Mafac trade names it was then altered to a leather wallet
According to the 1960 Ron Kitching Everything Cycling there were three versions of the tool kit all in a grey or brown plastic fold out wallet or cloth roll:
- The Constructor 6 tools
- Touriste 7 tools
- Randonneur 10 tools
- There were also toolkits for mopeds(cyclemotors)
The 1959 Everything Cycling has the most comprehensive information on the toolkits
All came with puncture repair kit and the three single ended spanners doubled as tyre levers. The three doubled ended spanners (8/9mm 10/11mm and 12/14mm) are some of the most useful tools ever invented Less successful are the large tools, eg cone spanners. The set covering pretty much all fittings on a lightweight bike. Later versions included allen keys.

Yeah, I have a metal tin one, I probably bought new in the 90s. I'll try and dig it out and take some pics. The black vinyl ones came with many French bikes in the 70s.

I have one of those as well, they're pretty cool. I think I sold the one with the wrenches though. The one I have left I still use as a patch kit with two levers, glue and patches in it. I also have a gitane one but it is vinyl not rubber and not as good, though it has NOS velox patches in it.

I have one of those kits in the brown rubber pouch that goes on every ride. I have added a couple of allen wrenches, but I still have alll the original tools.

Here's mine. I got this years ago from a guy that went to France regularly to scrounge bike stuff. I think he found a case of them! I never took the stuff out until now. Its actually pretty complete!

Yup, those are the tools that are still in the unopened wax paper, but there apears to be at least two more in there? Here are a few pics of the contents, I've pulled these packs out of the case before but never opened them.
