Translation! Winner gets a prize!

Who wants to win a mystery prize?

I DO!

Okay, what do you need to do?

Translate this block of silly email from a craigslister:

"hello,

interested in this bike,

do you know the center to center and center to top of seat tube and top tube?

best regards

Carl
"

I can't think hard enough to figure that out this late. I see "center to center and center" and that seems like a thing that should never occur in a sentence. Pardon me, it's late.

If you figure it out, I'll mail you a prize. (surprize prize, msrp $2.00)

Translation below, no prize needed - glad to do it as a service to another BF member as would all of us.

Hello,

I am interested in this bike.

Do you know the top tube length (from effective center of headtube to effective center of seattube) and seat tube length (from center of bottom bracket spindle to the overall top opening of the seatlug, not including lug extensions)?

Best regards,

Carl
I've included some alternate translations as well:

Craigslister translation:

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to ask you where you are and what your best price is for the bike, but I'm going to vanish immidiately afterwards.

Carl
eBay translation:

Hello,

I am interested in this bike. Your shipping cost is too high. I am in Germany.

Please ship to me for $18.

Karl
CR List translation:

Hello,

I wish to inform you that your bicycle is a fake Confente, and that the seat tube decal is offset by 2 millimeters.

Best regards,

Carl
Bicycling Magazine reader translation:

Hello,

I am interested in this bicycle, but I must know whether it is laterally stiff, yet vertically compliant.

Sincerely,

-Captain Dashboard
BikeForums A&S translation:

Get lost.
BikeForums Foo translation:

Hello,

I am interested in this bicycle, but I want to ask Pcad what the frame size is first. Can I do that?

Carl
Italian framebuilder translation:

I want a custom frame. Are any of your plumbers free today?
RobbieTunes translation:

Hello,

I am interested in this bike.

Is it a Centurion Iron Man?

-Robbie

I think I actually lol'ed on this one. Nice touch with the Karl for the German one!

I'm going to send him the measurements you provided, your rational response makes me feel I wasn't unjustified in my confusion.

Yeah, he's looking for both the c-c and c-t measurements. He just missed some punctuation.

Also, I lol'd at the robbietunes translation.

Then there's the alternative eBay translation:

Helo,

I'm interest in this item [and by "item" I mean I don't know if I'm buying a bike, car or fridge - and don't care either]. My ship agent live next door you and has USD 5,000 check. He give you the check, please cash it and keep USD 2,000. That should coverr item price and your troubles. Send me remaining USD 3,000 via Western Union Money Transfer. Thank you.

Hmm...should it read as follows, then?

Hello,

I am interested in this bike.

Is it a Centurion Iron Man? Does it come with Centurion Iron Woman in team kit?

My sister advertised a bike for me years ago when I moved out from our family home.
She would have no clue what the question was either.
I think you have to take in proper context.

Ricohman, I'm not ignorant to the world of bikes, I know about frame sizing. I just couldn't piece together his question without commas and the like... I'm not sure if you meant that kindly or if you inadvertently insulted my bike knowledge....

She is definitely a woman. There's a calender out there, somewhere, and other photos, that leave little doubt. Quite a rider, too. The Centurion team was all-female.
