Schwinn Breeze
Well I have a Schwinn Breeze to fix up for my mom! Her boyfriend works for the town and got it free at the annual dump days, where people in the town bring in their crap to throw out. Except, this bike is far from junk!!! The frame is darn near mint, as with the crank. Wheels have light rust, spokes are pretty rusty, fenders have some surface rust that looks like it can be polished out, I hope. Its just a single speed/coaster brake but My mom doesn't need anything complex. The tires need replacing bad, and I have read about Schwinn's size issue, so I am going to be on the lookout for tires. I am going to do my best to keep this bike as Original looking as possible, too.
anyone have good links to replacement tires? NO EBAY! Any other reputable online dealer is ok though. I was thinking I should probably put better rim strips on it too, I have never been too crazy about the cheap rubber ones. My mom is actually excited, none of my bikes are her size, so she will have a bike to ride around now. And I am excited to have a winter bike project (on top of others)! |
What size tire does it have on it now? Some came with 24" and others 26". I would suspect 26x1-3/8" tires, but need you to confirm what the current tires say before recommending something/website.

It needs Schwinn S6 26" x 1 3/8 tires. I will check at a local hardware store that has some odd size tires (at least last time I was in there) and will stop at a bike shop if no luck there, see what they can order me. Wont be cheap, im sure, but My mom deserves good tires to ride on!
