Oddly enough, we're warmer without shoes. SPD sandals, wool sox - one or two pair depending, and Seal Skins over one pair if it's much below 30 degrees

Are these booties a cycle specific thing? I guess I've never seen them before.

I bought this boot a couple of years ago. I had to buy it in Canada, ship it to a friend, who shipped it to me.
Down into the '20s it's warm with wool socks. Below that I usually add the neoprene booties and a hand warmer over the toes. I find the boots to be very comfortable. Best of luck.

Here's the US distributor but I still don't see the winter boot listed.

Here's the Canadian link.

+1 nice thick wool socks.
I commute at midnight and we have had mid-30 degree nights lately. I wear a pair of crappy converse type shoes with holes in them. The thick socks keep my feet toasty.

I have wrapped my feet in Saran wrap then socks and ridden but my feet got real sweaty.

You also used to be able to get nylon covers that fit over your toe clips and attached to the straps via velcro loops. I doubt they're still available, but they should be relatively easy to make.

Cross country ski boots
Vintagers,
I cross country ski classic style. Up here a 100 miles south of Lake Superior in Tomahawk, Wisconsin we all do. My ankle high CC ski boots are flexible at the toes, cleated on the bottom and warm to zero, with gaiters. I was hoping that combination would work on the bike too but I need a lead on good winter toe clips. Can anyone help with that? Size matters, style doesnt. Currently I am using Suntout track pedals with a square design. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nblog/2677824030/
Thanks,
Bill
