I was hoping that one would show up. Definitely one of my favorites on here... or anywhere for that matter. I for one won't get bored of it anytime soon.

Yeah, I stop and have a look each time. It's a real beauty!

I can only wish you lots of luck with your new to you DeRosa. It looks like a wonderful start to a total bike related obsession. Should ride incredibly well when you get her all ready to go.

Also, could you give us a component run down when you get a chance? Sorry for being nosy, but I love these bikes.

Thanks for the wells wishes and kind words! I'm retaping it today with orange cinelli cork...after that, it will be a very, very slow change from the chorus-athena mix on it now to a c record group (minus those delta brakes, which are pretty, but annoying).

Speaking of which, anyone have a suggestion on what brakes to use? I'm actually thinking of keeping the athenas on it now...they have damned good stopping power.

Obsession? What obsession?!? It's totally normal to have 7 bikes and to spend more on those than you do on clothing and shoes combined! Who DOESN'T trash pick Schwinn triplets from 1949 and spend entire weekends soaking the parts in various acids?

I posted this guy elsewhere, but it's worthy of this thread as well: A recently completed 1975(?) Eisentraut Limited. May have been built by Bruce Gordon, but there's no real way to tell. Tubing is a mix of Columbus and Ishiwata, as was typical of Albert Eisentraut's framebuilding. Components are mostly '84 Super Record. It's a beautiful example of master craftsmanship.

Somewhere in the US I think , probably San-Francisco. Here is what it looked like when I first got it (minus the Zipp wheel).

I need to either build this or sell it...I keep thinking sell it, and when I look at it...I don't want to anymore:

This one is currently in the post office! Picking it up tomorrow...have most of the parts already...a few are being mailed:

I guess it's time I also post my Carbone on this thread too.

One more for the French bike fans!

Amongst all the pantographing, chrome, drillium and flashy paint we have here, the Vitus Carbones and 979s are a more understated approach to high end bikes.

Not as good as most of the bikes in this thread, but better than one or two. A 1987 Schwinn Prelude with Columbus Tenax tubing and early SIS drivetrain.

It's the best bike I've got right now. I would call it the "worst of the best" of the '87 Schwinn lineup- their most affordabe Columbus bike.
