suntour accushift 7 freewheel body question
I killed (impact gun) a 4-prong accushift 7sp freewheel body with cogs in as new condition (1990 miyata 600LT) and will have to strip/vise the body off the hub. I want to use the cogs on another body. Pardon the ignorance - are all the freewheel 4-prong suntour bodies the same so as to allow the cogs to transfer to a 6sp 4-prong body, etc.?

Hello yes I do think so. I believe the 7th cog threaded onto the 6th cog which lokced everything on the body. how did you 'kill' the impact wrench? you did have a 4 prong suntour tool yes?

killed the freewheel body; the impact gun survives. first tried a 2-prong with wrench only, slipped and damaged the freewheel and tool; then used 4-prong, snugged down with a nut, and the impact gun - the tool spun through the remaining prongs and metal of the freewheel. took talent.

Why would you use an impact gun? You can make a freewheel vise with a block of wood and 4 wood screws that works great. Lots of pics posted online. Well, live and learn.

well you first mistake was using the 2 prong tool. while freewheels can be difficult to remove for a Suntour after you put the tool on the freewheel you need to reinsert the skewer to hold it in place. (I do this with any FW and eve lockrings) adjust the skewer until it is almost tight to hold the tool inplace. next I perfer a big wrench to 'kick' it loose but a bench vise will do to. you just need to loosen it a tiny bit then you can remove the skewer to actually remove the freewheel.
