Campy Cable Adjuster

Hello, I've been trying to match one of these. I'd prefer to find one like the one on the left with white rubber. I found a place that sells the black nut rubber alone, but would prefer white for this bike. Thanks.

good luck

Unfortunately, probably the cheapest way to buy one would be with a beat-up Athena caliper c'90.

You can get white O rings on Amazon that are a good match.

I found the whole barrel with nut rubber on Brandfords Bikes for $40. Ouch! But, of course it's black.

I'll check out Amazon.

actually the gentleman from Electra that was taking opinions on what old items we would like to see.. he could make a fortune just selling those adjusters.

It has always seemed to me that someone with some free time and a metal lathe could make reasonable-looking replacements from standard hardware. It's an allen-head bolt of the correct threading with a hole down the middle and one side ground off. The adjuster is a thumb nut plus an o-ring. They wouldn't be exact copies, of course, but certainly workable.

Back of the envelope guesstimate would make $20/pair profitable for a hobbiest, $10/pair for someone with a dedicated machinist and more sophisticated tooling.

I remember the "old days" when the original Branford Bike had good prices.

No luck. Thanks though!

You won't find the old adjuster for sale new anywhere. You may luck into one on eBay, or might be able to buy a single caliper. Try
this, maybe
or This, closer, or
this, for sure.

You can match the black one. The new stuff is pretty much like the old stuff.

That last Chorus one looks like the ticket, at a fair price. Thanks alot:thumb:
