Miyta 710 ser#
 

I have found a small frame 710. The top tube slopes down like a modern frame. I am guessing it is a 47 or 48cm. It actually measures 44cm ctc. The serial number is NU45730. It is in really good condition and appears to be all original except for the seat. I also have the original seat but the cover is missing. Maybe someone can tell me what year it is. 6 speed freewheel and 700c wheels.

Seems like an '85 as per # and color. All 710s are nice. one of my favs. I never did see that size.

It's a 48, I've a 310 that meas. NOT exact 21" called "21"

1986 Miyata catalog shows it coming (in that color) in 46cm and 50cm, nothing in between...but of course the method of measuring varies. For that matter in some years the Miyata catalogs show metric measurements, sometimes it's inches. www.miyatacatalogs.com

In 1987 Miyata went to the 'Terry' style of 24" front wheels for small road frames.

CVer Bibliobob had a Shogun 400 with a similar small frame up for sale in Chicago during the summer, and I bet a search would bring up its picture for a comparison.

I have an 85 and as I recall from the catalog it only came in 2 choices, red or blue, should be an 86 or 87...

Yes, the bike is very nice. Too bad it is so small. I will need to find it a good home. Thanks to all for the help. It needs new tires since the tires are even original or at least they say Miyata on them.

It's a highly sought after bike. As a Miyata of that level is one reason but the fact that it's so well suited to a shorter rider, a guy (moreso gals), bikes that small are scarce !
