1940's/1950's Tandem - Identification?

Can anyone help identify this tandem? My parents bought it second hand in the 1960's, it's clearly had a homemade paint job at some point. The lugs look similar to those on a Saxon, however it doesn't have the double seat tube arrangement.

I don't know, but it's begging for a powdercoat.

My best guess is a Steyr/Puch product. Just a wild guess though

Is that a Huret Svelto derailleur-haven't seen one of those in ages. It was considered an upgrade from the Allvit.

Come on, you've got to strip the head-badge!
That would be a great project, if you have a friend.

No, the friend is the one who will take a turn with the paint stripper and wire brush!

Thanks for the responses, it's going to be taken to Bob Jackson for a respray, hopefully over Christmas. It still gets used a fair amount, the four speed block at the back has lost a tooth here and there so it's only two speed at the moment.

Getting parts for the derailleur seems impossible.

I'll see what happens when I rub the paint off, might be something left of the original head badge.

Thanks

Tom

It's very solid, goes like a rocket downhill.

The stoker gets the shifters? Then why did my (2 Santana) brother hassle me for giving my stoker the shifter when I installed a Sturmey-Archer 7 speed on the Columbia Twosome I bought for $125?
