Magneet threading, anyone?
 
My turn to ask the question: got a bike-boom era Magneet for free and am starting to tear-down. Once I get the fork off I can test that threading with a go/no-go BSC headset nut, but It may take awhile before I get down to the cottered cranks and the BB.
No markings on the BB cups, so... do you know what the BB threading on one of these Dutchies will normally be?

It has Simplex Pestige :) RD, FD and cable bits, Huret wingnuts on Normandy hubs, ATAX stem and Belleri bars, Weinmann levers...lots of the usual suspects.

Most Dutch bicycles are English thread standard, at least all the ones I've come across. However, I can't say this with 100% confidence for Magneet. So, I wouldn't rule out French. Checking the pedal thread would give you a good idea of whether it is English or French.

good idea, thanks...when I get it all apart I'll post the resulting threading for posterity.
I will probably have a number of free parts for the PIF people, too, or to donate to local charity.
I expect to flip this naked frame to some fixista (the wheels are absolute tacos).

I've never heard of a Dutch bike with anything but English theading.
That said, given the components your mentioning are mostly french I'd say all
bets are off.

Any markings on the bottom bracket?

For further corroboration, if you have calipers you could also measure the stem quill diameter (22.0mm for French versus 22.2mm for English - if you're lucky it may even be stamped on stem) and the seat tube outer diameter (28.0mm for French versus 28.6mm for English). I know you know this, it just sometimes slips from your mind.

So much slips from my mind...anyway, cause I said I would update this: the Magneet has BSC (British) threading on both the fork and BB, plus the BB is a TDC (made in England) and though the crank and cups are in very good condition, the spindle has pitting.
All-in-all the frame is looking semi-good, nearly presentable, and has some charm such as the anodized "horse-shoe magnet" head badge...and it's not quite as heavy as I thought it would be, but it's not light, either. I'll get some pics up in a couple days, and since this is too big for me (24") it's destined to flip.
