Rear Derailluer question

I am thinking of putting some more modern parts on an old Ross that I as given. I was wondering if there are ay adapters out there to be able to attach a more modern rear derilluer to the old sliding dropouts without a derailluer tab such as the one in this picture.

The derailleur claw is the only thing that I am aware of. Embrace the claw.

how high end do you wish to go? if your aim is to simply set up a 7spd index is should be aesy to find a RD with a 'claw' attached.

here is just the hanger 'claw'http://www.loosescrews.com/index.cgi...d=213993527782

here is a Tourney with a hanger attached http://www.loosescrews.com/index.cgi...d=213993527782

I think that this particular Tourney will probably not work (since it is for 6 or 7 cog freewheel). I've seen older Tourney's (need to be from the 1980s) on ebay going for very inexpensively ($2-3). That's probably your best bet...

as a matter of fact, here is one with very reasonable shipping (at least to where I am) as well:
