Brad, I have that same bike. Mine still has the 700d tires & wheels. My plans are to make a 650B tourer out of it at some point with brifters & wracks. Did you put 650b tires on the 700d rims or to you have complete 650b wheels?
It also looks like you have updated the parts quite a bit. Mine has the original suntour group, It works well enough but just feels very cheep.

I changed the wheels because the hubs were bad and the 700D tires are very hard to find. I bought an inexpensive 650B wheel set from www.niagaracycle.com that were on sale for $80.00 front & rear. Not the top of the line but I'm very happy with. I also picked up some Panaracer Col de la Vie 650B tires which are a great tire and make for a very nice ride.
I also had to change to a Shimano 7 speed cassatte and shifters since the new wheel set would not accept the old suntour freewheel.
All in all a great bike which i plan to keep for a very long time. It's my Sunday morning ride to Starbuck's.

Brad

There is nothing ugly about that bike!

You can't tell from the pix, but mine has the blue "ghost" flames...

Retiring my GT Continuum

Cannot find any of those 700D x 1.4 tyres with ISO 587mm - e.g. GT Crossover - (with an online search of the world and asking bike shops to look in the dusty corner of their workshops), so my GT Continuum will sadly have to go to "bike heaven" in the near future.

I suspect that these tyres are still out there, but just need to find and ask the right shop in the right country.

You could probably rebuild your wheels with either 650B (584mm ?) or 26x1-3/8 (590mm) (Sun cr18) rims, depending on which size would work best with you brakes. Might be worth it.

I'd be interested in buying your Continuum if you're looking to get rid of it. I'm a bit of a GT fan and I've been looking for that bike in my size!

You are most welcome to do that ... however, heads up ... the bike and I are in Brisbane Australia :) .
If you are still interested, come over and have a holiday on the nearby Gold Coast.
I will even dismantle it and put it into a bike box for you ...:commute:

$US will be welcome :)

At this point in time, I don't want to rebuild the wheels (probably cost more than it did for the bike) ... not yet... prefer to keep it standard - if I do keep it ... just have to kill the spiders spinning webs on it from it not being used....

"Bike swap meet" on locally this weekend, so shall see if there are any 700D tyres/tires for sale (might consider it a "lotto win" if there is!).

Cheers and thanks
