Bianchi identification

Can anyone help me identify the production/model year of this frameset? I appears to be fully chromed underneath the paint if that helps. Made in Italy with Columbus TSX tubing. Does the fork appear to be original? The serial number is A518P.

Hello. nice looking Bianchi, looking through my catalogs I see a TSX bike offered in '92 with Athena and then in '95 with Chorus and as a frameset. the fork looks original for the period what kind of ends does it have? Campi or Bianchi? also during '93 and '94 Bianchi was offering frames and 'bikekits' so it could have been from '92 through '95.

Tmar may be able to determine the year from the serial number but I have no idea how to do it.

Has a lot of the same characteristics of my Campione d'Italia, except the CdI does not have chrome fork and stays. But the seat lug, etc are the same. I thought mine was a '97, but they also made the same bike in Celeste in '95, and it had the same decals as yours. Your serial number leads me to believe that both mine and yours are '95's. Mine had a Made in Italy decal & Deda tubing, but had an English BB.

Edit: Looking again at BikePedia, I'm pretty sure mine is a '97 due to the tubing description. But your decals match.

How do I get in touch with Tmar. Tried looking him up in the member list, not there.

He disabled his PMs & email, so you can't contact him, you can only wait. He'll swoop in at any time.

Sorry, I can't help with the serial number. The Reparto Course frames use a different and apparently inconsistent serial number format. That, plus we don't see enough of them to properly analyze what data we do have.

I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that the fork may not be original. The decal on the blade appears to have a blue border as opposed to red. If so, this suggests a replacement fork. TSX decals have a red border. SL, SLX and TSX all used the same fork blades, so there's no reason for the different decal except for a replacement fork or the wrong decal being applied at the factory. Of the two cases, the former seems more likely.

Bianchi list the '92 frame as having a Columbus El fork and then '95 is just listed as Columbus Crhomoly. both are chrome plated unicrowns

OH if it is OK with FixedFiend I am going to piggyback on his thread here. I know this frame came to me from europe following a stop for an unknown time in Cinncinati OH. do any of our European members know anything about it? I am curious as to what level components would be on it. it is a Vento 603 and the tubing is just simply identified as CroMo high quality tubes. vertiacl dropouts, no FD braze one, very ovalized DT

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me find out a little more info about a Bianchi Axis, celeste green serial no. H9A70571. It has a 68 bb, Tange superset tubing. The Bianchi decals are Grey with a blue stripe. thanks
