Riding my bike in traffic, I sometimes see car drivers do things so dangerous that it brings my blood to a boil, and I chase them down and yell at them. Looking back on it later, I've wondered why I lost my cool. Not that I get violent; but emotion definitely overpowers self-control. In light of this... and I didn't see it the first time I watched the video... but the girl who got her ponytail yanked had a whole fistful of the other girl's shorts in her hand at the time. As I sometimes have to say to my kids... "well, what did you think was going to happen, if you did that?"

Also, if you watch the clips in sequence, the clip preceding the ponytail pulling episode shows the BYU player flipping #15 on the ground. But again, she went a bit too far in her retaliation. Maybe a yank on the ponytail, but not a throwdown. Gotta be a little more subtle.

methinks there was some acting involved in the reaction to the ponytail yank.

Had a great ride with Noglider today. We headed out through maplewood and over into a couple of neighboring towns and through a county park thats apparently a former indian reservation. Very cool scenery.

We set off on our own bikes, Me on my Super Course and Tom on his Maclean (sp?). Not 2 miles into the ride I somehow managed to break the spring in my Cyclone RD that tensions the cage. Cage went limp and my bike basically ceased to work properly....so mile or so walk back to Tom's place where he kindly allowed me my pick of his (wonderfully diverse) stable to ride for the day. I tried out his Surly Cross-Check, but settled on a goregeous Team Fuji with Gold anodized rims and the most perfectly broken-in Brooks Professional. I was comfy, it was fast, and the Suntour ARX components performed as well as my Cyclone stuff....maybe better.

also had a chance to tour his workshop, which was packed with cool stuff. A Raleigh Twenty with the original Brooks mattress saddle, A Schwinn Prelude, A really nice Shogun (I think it was a shogun)...too many to list really, those are just a few off the top of my head. And to top it off Tom sent me home with a great Wheelset for my Team Miyata build...Dura-Ace hubs on black Mavic rims. :thumb:

This thread made me feel warm and fuzzy, unlike the other mean-spirited "i hate this new forum" posts that seem to abound.
