1985 trek 600
 

My dad just gave me his 1985 trek 600 with campy components. I was looking on vintage trek and it said 600 only came in blue that year but mine is green and hasnt been re-painted. Any suggestions?

The 600 did not come as a bike but as a frameset. 660, 670 and 620 were the designations of the complete Trek 6xx series bikes in '85. The 670 bike came in green, with full Reynolds 531 and Campy Nuevo Record components. That's probably what you have, built to order

+1 Just look up your serial number and it will tell you exactly what you have. The Vintage Trek site is superb.

No, it wasn't. Check the catalog... 600 was a frameset built into a complete bike by a shop.

The 1985 catalog states the 600 was built with 531cs tubes, stays and forks.

I have a 1985 Trek 600 'Series', also made with 531cs. Most recently I built it up as a touring bike and can report that it felt rather good on a just completed 45 day trip.

That's a great shot! Danish flag on the trailer is such a great touch! (Love the size of that water bottle on the down tube as well, what is it?)

Those are great bikes indeed and for so many uses. Yesterday I finished my build on a 531 Reynolds Trek as my main hilly course triathlon bike for the next season (Will post pictures soon...)

The bottle is 2ltr soda pop container in one of those Topeak monster cages.

I can't find any 600 that was green, they were burgundy/silver in 83, not available in 84, and Blue in 85. Shoot an email to Skip and ask him.

I just picked up a 85 Trek 600 (local CL buy)..as per the Vintage Trek site, it has the Shimano 600 group and the Reynolds 531 CS
frame tubing. I've not had a chance to clean and ride it...but I'm really looking forward to based on all of the good things I've read about t.
