Pashley Guv'nor and Alfine hub

Thinking of getting one of these. While I accept it's practical limitations, I can't help asking does anyone know if it can take a rear wheel made up with an Alfine 8 gear hub?

I'd then have to think about an alternative rear brake, so maybe the idea is a non-starter.

I can phone Pashley, but it's Sunday, so I thought I'd start here.

Thanks.

You are correct about the brake. I believe the Guv'nor is only equipped for a hub brake. That said, I think your best option would be a Nexus 8 (RG836) with a roller brake. It's essensially the same hub as the Alfine in a slightly different pakage.
