Simultaneous Lovin' -- Multiple Bikes / Same Model

"I want you, and you, and you for simulataneous lovin', baby." Chef, South Park

I believe it is safe to conclude that there is more per capita bike accumulation by those on this forum than any other.

And I am sure that there are many of you who have multiple bikes of the same model; maybe different years and colors, but the same model.

It's winter and a little slow on this forum. Let's see those bikes. We need more photo entertainment.

And, focusing on bikes that you already own, what bikes would you consider adding as multiples to your collection.

OK, for me, I have two Litespeed Appalachians, 1998 and 2000, configured differently. May not be vintage, but they sure as hell are are classics.

For me, I would like to find another Trek 660 (or 760 or 560).

I have three black Raleigh Competitions, all three ridden daily as commuters. A 1968, a 1974, and a 1976. I drive the '68, and my wife and daughter drive the other two. All on tubulars, too.

My two sons have Raleighs, also, but theirs aren't Competitions. Between the five of us - all adults - we have one car we share, and it doesn't get driven much.

I don't mind having a lot of Celeste stuff around. Especially when it's always a shade different.

Couple '0 highly customized 1991 Trek 2100. Well actually one is, the other is just a bare frame that kicks around as a "backup". Don't seem to have any photos.

once again a fabulous collection of bikes. I would have never thought of a "twin" thread. at first glance these two may seem different but both are MAX frames. the Celeste I purchased new in '90 and built it up when I was working in Boston. the red one I came to me atleast third hand from a BFr in Minneapolis. it was unfortunatly painted, not very well, red by a area racer. OK OK the reason for this longish story is... the serial numbers are only 3 apart!

USAZorro 12-21-09 09:47 AM

Nice looking twins. I don't have any. Raleigh Pro/Team Pro sounds close, but these two bear only a minor resemblance to each other.

That's too funny. We inherited 300+ collector plates from my father in law... I'm just saying this cuz I figure if someone is interested in your clocks, they may want our plates.

Rabid Koala 12-21-09 10:07 AM

Mmmmmm, Paramounts!

No look at the cable end on the FD. Also the sidewall fade on the rear.

Maybe we need a new thread of "Side effects and symptoms of bike collecting as it pertains to selling other collections to BF members."

Or... "SESBCPSOCBFM thread"

I have two old steel Schwinn LeTours, one light blue, one red.
I also have two GT MTBs, one red and one grey. I only have pics of the two MTBs handy.

Rabid Koala ... 3 Paramounts!? I'm jealous! And all tall-boys to boot!

WNG 12-21-09 11:52 AM

Talk about Double Vision!
Some nice "twins" and variations on a theme. ;)
I haven't started cloning on bikes yet....but had me thinking, and I am doing just that on some tools, flashlights, and watches. oh my!
