1966-ish Peugeot mixte. Model unknown, possibly a PE25. 3-speed Fitchel & Sachs Torapado rear hub, rear fender w/ skirt guard eyelets, Soubitez optics, 700c wheels. With the exception of the tires and seat its all original.

I have a question for the franciphiles:
What kind of skewers would be found on an early '70s PX10 with Normandy Luxe Competition hubs?
Jim,
That seat has got to go!

That's what I was afraid of. I've seen them sell for over $100 on eBay. Most of them have missing plastic "wingnuts". I ended up buying a rusty and worn out set just to get one wingnut for my Carlton.

Nope. Wrong ones.
This is the one. The black part is separate and acts as a jam nut. They're delicate and split when over tightened.

It's the part that's missing from these, aside from the covers for the levers.

Here are two of mine that I haven't done anything with yet:
etienneFrame.jpg
A St. Etienne frame that I saw sticking out of a garbage can on trash day. From a distance, I thought it was a Gitane based on the foil decals.
FrenchSears.jpg
FrenchSearsFront.jpg
This is a French-made Sears 10 speed that I saw sticking out of a dumpster while out on a ride. Not shown is a sweet pleather tool kit that had a bunch of bike tools and 55 cents in quarters and dimes in it.
I understand that the French Sears bikes are relatively rare. I saw another one on the internet machine and it looked just like mine. Does anyone know which company built them for Sears?

I have an older Peugeot branded spring/mattress seat that might fit this bike. It's in good shape. If you're looking for something like that let me know.

I've got to include my 2 bikes in the thread since I've recently been bitten by the bug.
This is my 1985 Gitane Performance bike. Most of the stickers had been previously removed, so I'm thinking I've identified it correctly.

And this is my first french bike. My Peugeot Ph10s.
