The Frenchies in my garage (except for the cruddy Starnord Mixte, which I abandoned outside a Carrefour Hypermarche in Avignon July 08).
The Peugeot Mixte is a daily ride, for shop runs and school drop offs. The Vitus has a full set of pristine Superbe Pro, but a very unsatisfying ride. The PSVN would be nice if I was a couple of inches taller.

mid 70's gitane super corsa (identified by the experts on BF: unworthy1 and bobbycorno, thanks again!!)
bought the frame, fork, bb years ago, the seller advertised it as a high end italvega. NOT!!! after two years of trolling ebay, i finally got the parts together to make it sweet riding relic. just built some wheels to finish the package...

1957 PLX8 Grande Tourisme
Wanted a similar bike that was a little better suited for the aforementioned grind... built up a 74ish UO8 with a bunch of parts I had kicking round the shop and have since installed a rear rack and my second 40 tooth chain ring and am just waiting for a matching Huret rod shifter. Wanted a retro drive train and the only concession to that was the Shimano HG 6 speed as it really improves the shifting which is light and quick.
Wheels are Maillard hubs laced to Rigida 27 inch blue labels (dw / eyeletted), fenders and rack (not shown here) came from a UE8, shifter is Huret mated to a 60's Huret Svelto, crank is a Peugeot branded Sakae with Sakae rings, stem is Nitto, bar is Sakae, saddle is an Ideale Professional, brakes are Mafac, levers are Dia Compe.
Bike curbs out in the mid twenties and is very comfortable, fast, climbs really well, and eats up the bad roads... she's the perfect beater bike.

While I am hanging with you perverts, as all French bike lovers are... I am missing one end nut for the Maillard Spidel skewers that belong to my wheels and wonder if anyone has a spare. It will be that odd nut with a plastic cap and little wings that has a different thread from every other skewer you have.

when i graduated college in 1975, i was given a 'Francia' bicycle--have any of you amis des bicyclettes francaises ever come across a bike so tagged? if memory serves, it was basically a peugeot UO8-- mafac racers, cottered steel cranks, huret DR's, steel 27" wheels, leather saddle, lyotard rattrap pedals, etc...i ask only because i've never, ever seen mention of the Francia marque, ever...anywhere....purch'd in dallas tx 1975-- all i now possess of it is the frame, rattlecanned black in some addled 'upgrade' back in the earliest 80s...

Early 70's PX-10. Stem is a french sized SR, Nitto bars, Cinelli cork tape, Mafac gold levers, Mafac Racer brakes, simplex shifters, Shimano 600 cranks, MKS GR9 pedals, Dura Ace FD, Campy RD, Ukai rims with Suntour hubs, Brooks Professional.

My first and only french bike is what I believe to be a 1977 Motobecane Grand Jubile that I picked up from the original owner at a yard sale for $40 and it included the original owners manual. I am still not sure what I am going to do with this one but I am going to start on it as soon as my Dawes Super Galaxy is finished. It has all Japanese components,Suntour Cyclone derailleurs, SR crankset, seat post and stem, Weinmann brakes and Ridga wheels SP? (well there french).
