Hey everybody! Check this ^ out. This will knock your socks off!
-( I'm used to seeing dedicated threads when one like this is unearthed ! )

Here's a teaser for you:

rootboy - It might be a good idea to start a new thread with these pics, and a fuller history on the bike.

+1, that is one of the cleanest bikes I've seen in some time. Looks too good to be restored - must be original.

Currently my only French bike, a '69 Herse. I need to replace the tires. The rubber has cracked and the rear tire is flat. Better pics here: https://www.reneherse.com/RedRH1969.html.

thanks

Hello fellas. Thank you Auchen. And LeicaLad. I tried to respond to your PM, Auchen, but it said it wouldn't let me PM without at least 50 posts under my belt. Though I signed up for this forum years ago, I don't spend much time on the computer and am still a bit of a Neanderthal when navigating here. I gotta figure out you guys post those large pics (it can't be THAT hard, eh?) and then I'd be glad to do a separate thread on my bike. Briefly, yes, that is the original finish. If you look VERY closely at that pic Auchen included, you'll see a bit of touch up on the seat stay, about the size of a pea. That was the biggest, and about only, touch up needed. I bought the bike from the original owner about 25 years ago. Help me out here; is there a tutorial on how to add large pics onto a posting? Must be. When I figure it out, I'll submit a posting. Thank you guys. I appreciate it. Scott.

rootboy - It might be a good idea to start a new thread with these pics, and a fuller history on the bike.

Do you have any more photos of the Terrot Dijon? If you do I would appreciate seeing them. Regards, Nick nozerov@satx.rr.com

As of this morning, no longer mine.

I had to pass it on to someone with the time and money to do it right. I wish him well on it.

Nothing special but it cleaned up nice. It had spiders in it and looked a mess. All the parts were there so elbow grease was all it needed.

Hi thenomad -
That looks like an '87 in HLE tubing? They are underrated frames IMO.

Nice job, Fenway.
I would remove the reflectors though, for aesthetic reasons.

(Get some discreet active lighting and reflective clothing if you ride in the evenings - active lighting is more effective than reflectors anyway)

Hope you all aren't tired of seeing my Look, but I suppose it deserves a place on this French thread.

(right click-> "view image" for bigger picture)

Heres my almost-ready Peugeot PS10. I think the frame is from 1978. Ive been building it up with french and italian componentry (Campag, Simplex, Stronglight), trying to make it less than 10 kilos. This is sort of a 30th anniversary present for myself - ten years from now, Im gonna order myself an Alex Singer.

But what about bar tape & cable housing colours?

My late-60's low end Gitane saved from a date with the dump that I posted in another thread. It appears the large chainring may be bent (or the crankarm) as there's a distinct "wobble" in the ring as it goes around. I'll have to look for another cottered crank at the swap meet in a couple of weeks and then put a chain on it to test ride.

I like your PS10: I'd do white housings, black cloth tape. White Velox bar end plugs would be a plus.

Eventually when I get a handlebar bag the front reflector mount will be used as part of a DIY decaleur. A bottle dynamo, rear fender light, and a front rack light probably will come at some point too.
