My new 1972 Gitane TdF, just purchased from ebay and in transit. I've got my eye on a 26.4 seatpost and Simplex rear derailleurs, in case I need them.

@El Chaba, Welcome & nice Peugeot Pro! Do you know what year it was made? I don't think I've seen a front derailleur mounted in a such a way. I'm sure that version of the front derailleur would be hard to replace. I like the matching pump as well.

I looked for one of these in my size and in decent shape for YEARS. BTW, the last photo which is weird is a tough thing to capture...I was trying to show the dogwood insert in the bottom of the steering column that they put in as a reinforcement....

Last ride of 2016, and my U08 Velo de Ville got the nod. You will notice a few changes since the last time I showed this bike here. I've finally finished her configuration for the 2017 riding season, with PDW Loading Dock rack and Takeout basket, and some nice black Rigida wheels from her sister Peugeot Versailles. I was surprised that the 700c conversion was accomplished without changing the brake calipers, but the stock MAFACs reach just fine.
I'll be taking her out again tomorrow for the first ride of `17 - Hudson308 and I will be riding the Midtown Greenway in Minneapolis and I hope to get more and better photos.

Wares was a bike shop in Milwaukee, WI, apparently. That was a weird place to put the shop sticker, but it seems that the Gitane decals were removed from the down tube before doing sono evidence of them left whatsoever.
