Well, I guess somebody should do just that. Where's Morganville anyway? I'm in Los Angeles.

Wow, he only wants $175.00 and the same exact bike is selling for $700.00 right now on ebay.. Typical CL scammer..

https://cgi.ebay.com/EDDY-MERCKX-CORS...item27ae1e9877

Email CL seller and he will say he out of town on business, but if you send him the money he will have his shipper send the bike right away..

Oh, try I did, this is what he emailed me in return:

"I am located in Morgantown. The bike is for sale still and to speed things up and sell it for $125 now, no negotiation available. You know the listing is just for the bottle cage, right."

EDDY MERCKX CORSA 01

FULL DURA ACE 7700 9 SPEED

SERIAL # G892 53CM

The Corsa-01 is a very special commemorative type frameset built by Eddy Merckx. Unlike the older Corsa Extra built with Columbus SLX tubing, this frameset is built with the much higher grade Dedacciai Zerouno Tubing Serie Speciale per Eddy Merckx. This design/tubing engineering ensures a bike that is lightweight(for steel), superb Eddy Merckx ride/balance/performance/strength/non-fatigue of steel, and tremendous durability from the OVALIZED TUBING of downtube and seat tube while enhancing acceleration for sprints as well as hill climbs. Another really special feataure of the Corsa-01 are the CHROME SEAT STAYS, CHROME CHAIN STAYS, and EDDY MERCKX CROWN PANTOGRAPH CHROME FORK. Special release of the MOTOROLA MXL and 7-11(100 frames worldwide) had no chrome at all while costing more than both my arms and legs!!!!

This Eddy Merckx is a solid original and is in very good/excellent condition. The paint detail shows some typical paint chips and scuff marks. There are two very minor dings on the top tube which is shown on one of the pictures(only cosmetic) and it is not really noticeable until you get closer. This bike will easily last another 20 years performing like it once did when it was new. This bike has been taken cared of very well. All the chrome on this bike is in MINT CONDITION, shines brilliantly with NO PITTING ANYWHERE. Please review the pictures and let your own eyes be your guide.

Now onto the componentry. The bike was ordered/spec'd with a Full Dura-Ace 7700 9-Speed grouppo. The Dura-Ace 7700 Shifters works flawlessly and hoods/levers is in good/excellent cosmetic condition. The Dura-Ace 7700 Brakeset functions perfectly and the finish is excellent with good brake padding. The Dura-Ace 7700 crankset functions as it should, 172.5 in length with 53-39t chainrings, and cosmetic condition is good. Front and rear derailleur are Dura-Ace 7700 series and works perfectly with good/excellent cosmetics as well. Wheelset are Mavic Open Pro's with Dura Ace 7700 Hubset and are in excellent/mint condition. Wheelset value alone on Ebay is $250-300. Wheelset spins straight and trued when necessary and comes with Original Dura-Ace 7700 Skewers. The 9-speed cassette is Dura-Ace CS-7700 11-23t. Tires are Continental Attack/Force is good riding shape. Seatpost is Thompson Elite 27.2 Silver(excellent) and saddle is Selle Flite Gel Flow. Handlebar are Cinelli Giro d'Italia and Cinelli Stem(approx 100-110cm). Headset and bottom bracket are all Dura-Ace. Please note bottles and pedals are not included.

GEOMETRY

Seat tube (A) = 53.34 cm (C-C), 54.85 cm (C-T)

Top tube (B) = 53.85 cm (C-C)

Head tube (D) = 118 mm

I am asking $175 or best offer for this bike. If the posting is still here, then the bike is still available.

Hmmm... West (by God) Virginia (Wild and Wonderful; and my size to boot). I might think about making the 12 hr RT to Morgantown (and pick up a Tudor's biscuit -or 2- as well), but after the Mountaineers loss yesterday, I would not be amazed if this is not a scam...
