teaser

just (mostly) finished.
the seat tube was shorter than I expected (50cm c-c), hence the longish seatpost/saddle position.
TT is 54cm which should feel right.
I'll take better pics this weekend.

I would double-check those dropouts before making accusations.

norskagent 01-08-10 06:56 AM

The bike is at home now, I didn't write down the serial number. But it is a carlton/worksop '79 raleigh track I believe. I'm going to change the white grips to black cloth tape I think.

RobbieTunes 01-08-10 07:05 AM

Nice, JP

mkeller234 01-08-10 07:08 AM

Super sweet. +1 on the black grips too.

Bianchigirll 01-08-10 07:48 AM

I agree very nice looking bicycle

Bikedued 01-08-10 07:52 AM

Yellow grips!:D,,,,BD

norskagent 01-08-10 08:01 AM

hmmm, I do have some yellow cloth tape...

Bikedued 01-08-10 08:14 AM

What I usually do on cloth lately is put a layer of cork underneath for a little comfort. I have tried shellac on yellow too, even clear changes the color
quite a bit on the first coat. It goes from yellow to a goldenrod color. Yellow cloth would look nice, I agree:).,,,,BD

Nice, little bike.

norskagent 01-08-10 05:18 PM

I put easy to remove yellow cello tape on, to see how it will effect...

Thanks! Anybody know how to adjust a chris king gripnut headset? Not the same feel as a traditional threaded headset.

MP98 01-08-10 08:22 PM

very nice work. What kind of tires are those? I need to get a set of the gumwalls for a project that I am working on

norskagent 01-09-10 07:41 AM

actually they are dirty white soma everwears. But panaracer pasela tourguides are gumwalled, I have a pair on my '76 fuji track bike:

Some barely slightly better pics - my camera's batteries started to die as I was taking them. I am running a rear kierin brake for now as a compromise between the clean looks of brakeless and the fact that I'm going to be street riding it, carefully of course.

Beauty!

luker 01-10-10 04:38 PM

check this thread out. That bike is a '79 as well. the woman who owned it said it was all original...I think that the bike shop still has that bike.

norskagent 01-10-10 05:15 PM

That was interesting. So that frame is 753? My serial number indicates carlton/worksop origin.
