Look at this ebay auction.

It is for an almost complete Sante group (with some other Shimano bits to complete it) and it is almost $500 with a few minutes left. That's up there in early Dura Ace territory and it almost approaches clearance 2009 SRAM Rival prices...

Hold on to your Sante bits, folks...

well it does look almost unused but... I agree it is a bit overpriced. there is a pair of shifters for $90 with parts missing

No, it wasn't me. lol. I would have paid up to $400 for the group, though.

I have a pair of NOS Sante shifters - got them for $18.00. Just need the rest. I don't even plan on using it....it would just be decoration in my shop.

Weird, there was a seller in quebec trying to unload a sante group, first for $300 w/ no takers, after a few rounds of that he dropped it to about $200, not sure if it ever sold or not. It was a crank, shifters, cassette or freewheel, calipers, levers and the derailleurs

edit: ok, found the completed auction, $100 bucks no one bit.

Two incomplete groups recently sold for over $300. Neither of those two had hubs or skewers.

The pricing on Sante has gotten wild.

FWIW: The seller had a lower buy it now, but someone opened the bidding instead.

On the same note, Suntour/Diacombe/Sakae came up with the alpha II group (Cyclone-based) at about the same time, which was white as well... I wonder if those parts have reached Sante price territory yet

I was offered some pretty good cash amounts for my group (not NOS condition by any means) recently. I traded it to a forum friend who has good plans for it.

I am talking about the group that was on the 88 Schwinn Premis. The '88 Circuit got the Sante and the Premis got that Cyclone-based group. I am pretty sure that the designation was alpha II and it was just a 6 sp index group. (middle of the road, not Ole)

Son of a, you should have sold those back to me for this, which is what it came from originally...

It is funny, I'm looking for Sante to get the bike back to OEM. I have poked my nose around all the LBS's in the area, asking about it, and get only "keep on looking!" looks. Supposedly while I was away a Circuit came and went in Corvallis for $200, with the original bits.

Aw, hell. It even has the little plugs for the shifters (which I'm missing.) I would have kicked a puppy for that group.

yeah Ole was a white suntour group as well.

I say sell your sante if you can get that kind of money for it and get the sweet sweet sram rival group... but then I'm just not that in to riding vintage for serious sport.

Suntour also had Cyclone 7000 in white. I just sent a set of shifters to robtown for a skewer. I still have the RD....

ebay is one fickle animal. I sold my Sante group 3 months ago and it didn't bring anywhere close to $500. Still made some cash and then had a frame for free. It all evens out I guess when you can sell a saddle for $100 that came off a $25 complete bike.

Cyclotoine...I've been thinking of using a SRAM group for my Colnago...how does the Rival stuff ride? Is there much difference between rival, force and red? The rival's price point seems VERY attractive to me.
